 | About Us |
4M Karaoke started in 1995 in Central Illinois. I began as a club DJ in 1984 while in the military. When I left the military, I did private shows while working a day job. In 1992, I went to work for a local branch of a national DJ service, where I earned several awards. After parting company with them, I once again went to work on my own and discovered the wonderful world of karaoke.
Between 1995 and 2004, I hosted regular weekly shows including the Bombay Bicycle Club of Bloomington, Christine's in Illiopolis and Buck's Tavern in Dawson. 4M Karaoke was also interviewed for a national Karaoke magazine.
In December of 2004, I relocated to Rathdrum, Idaho and once again built a following of singers, with music in a wide variety of styles and genres.
From 2005 to 2009, I frequently "guest hosted" the "Karaoke by Marj" show at The Corner Bar in Coeur d'Alene, ID.
From March 2009 to July 2010, I hosted a regular weekly show at CHILLERS in Coeur d' Alene, ID. Sadly, Chillers was sold and a new host was brought in by the new owners. This was a wonderful venue with a great staff.
From February to October 2010, I hosted first a bi-weekly show that became a weekly show on Saturdays at Ponderosa Springs Golf Course in Coeur d' Alene.
From May to Oct 2010, 4M hosted at the Lakers Inn in Coeur d'Alene.
September 2010 began a new show on Thursdays at Carlin Bay Resort in Harrison, ID. This show was beginning to pick up when my relocation forced me to cancel it.
Due to family reasons, we had to close our shows in Idaho in Oct 2010 to relocate to Virginia.
4M Karaoke is now booking shows on Va's Eastern Shore (ESVA)! Watch for show info and schedules!
We have hosting at Shuckers Roadhouse in Onancock since Dec 2010. BarRacuda Pub, also in Onancock, added us to their weekly entertainment in Sept 2011.
"What does 4M stand for?"
When I began working as a DJ in 1984 at the base club where I was stationed in Alaska, I was unable to come up with a "catchy" name. I asked the patrons to help me come up with one and after a week of suggestions, it was decided I would be known as "Madd Mapp's Music Machine". Once I left the military club scene, I changed it to 4M Productions for a more professional sound, and when I went strictly karaoke, it became:
